Adding a powered USB hub solved my difficulty with the non-functioning PowerDesk SE program. The Matrox unit derives it's power from the USB port, and although I had a green power light on the unit, it was not deriving enough power from my computer thru the conventional USB for the PowerDesk SE program to sense the unit was attached. The powered USB hub supplies the proper line voltage to produce a strong enough signal now and it functions fine. One other thihg. When opening windows, the new window will often default to the left-hand monitor instead of centered on the center monitor where the user can read it more conveniently. I had read in a review of the unit on one of the flight simulation websites that there was an update available that moves this default monitor from the left to the center, however I have not been able to locate this file nor has customer service responded to my email regarding its existence. That's all I need now.

While I have already submitted a narrative review for this product, I don't see it posted yet. At this time, my original problem with the nonfunctional PowerDesk SE program is not solved. But I suspect we're working on a solution still. I think this may go a long way toward a remedy if I can get this program to work and I am then able to adjust my settings from its interface. Here's the dialog I am having with customer service, who have been great so far: Hi Mark, Unfortunately, the Dual DVO ports are not the same as Dual-link DVI ports. It seems that the only way that this product can run correctly is if you use the vga cable we included with our unit and connect it to the vga port of the Triplehead2go. The specs on the 6600 graphics card mentions it has dual DVO ports for interfacing to external TMDS transmitters and external TV encoders. Does that meet specification? Do these specs have anything to do with getting the PowerDesk SE program to function? Just checking, because that seems to be related to my difficulty. When I 2x click on the program in “Programs” nothing happens at all… whereas, when I first installed it the program ran and I could make these adjustments… I just have no capability for going back in and readjusting these settings because I can’t run that program. It would be the same with a desktop. Let us know how it goes. This is a desktop, not a laptop, although I’m not sure that matters in this instance. I’ll follow your instructions this evening. Thank you. Mark -----Original Message----- From: Tech Support [mailto:graph_ts@matrox.com] Sent: Thursday, September 27, 2007 7:03 AM To: 'Mark Stotesbery' Subject: RE: Tech Support request - General Hi Mark, Is the power led on the TH2Go unit green? Go to device manager, monitors, plug and play, properties, details. Under device instance ID next to the word display do you see the letters MTX? (do this for all plug and play listed) It’s possible that the video card does not have a “Dual Link” DVI port which is required for the TH2Go Digital. If this is the case can you try the supplied VGA to VGA cable from the laptop to the TH2Go. Also the native resolution of your monitors is 1680x1050 so 3 X 1680x1050 is not supported by your video card. You would have to set the resolution to 3840x1024 (3 X 1280x1024) which is what the video card supports. Can you forward this to the proper person. Thanks. PowerDesk SE appears to be inoperative resulting in my inability to adjust the resolution of my matrox/monitors. Mark Stotesbery
