The new R.A.M. (Model 1910) from Kershaw Knives was designed by two Hawks—father and son team Grant and Gavin Hawk. And it’s loaded with cool features and functions that knife users are going to love. It starts with a blade of Sandvik 13C26, a stainless chromium steel characterized by high hardness, corrosion resistance, and excellent wear resistance. That’s paired with an anodized aluminum handle with G-10 inlays for a secure grip and great looks. The R.A.M. also includes the patent-pending Hawk Lock that’s both super-secure and super easy to operate. Opening the knife is smooth and easy with the one-handed ambidextrous index-finger opening. It opens with either Kershaw’s new “flipper” system or the convenient thumb knobs. The flipper opens using the index finger of either hand. The user pulls back on the extended tang on the front of the spine. This builds up kinetic pressure and slightly raises the blade out of the handle. Then just continue to pull back and the blade opens quickly and easily. Another nice touch is the reversible/removable pocket clip with a wheel-lock that secures and seats the clip while the knife is in your pocket.
