Overview Exabyte's data-grade media optimizes tape drive performance and increases data integrity. The special cartridge design resists contamination and prolongs shelf life. Formulated specifically for Exabyte MammothTape technology, 8mm AME tape offers expanded recording capacity and low abrasivity, which reduces mechanical wear. AME magnetic material is vertically aligned. This unique orientation and the absence of binder components on the media enables AME's higher capacity and superior signal strength. AME's specially formulated backcoating dramatically reduces the buildup of static electricity and debris, greatly reducing the chance of read/write errors. With its lifetime warranty, AME is truly superior to other media formulations on the market today.
